Monday, September 3rd is Labor Day -- the holiday when our nation celebrates and honors organized labor, and the generations of workers whose solidarity has advanced economic and social justice in the USA, and lifted tens of millions of working people out of poverty and into the middle class.
Join the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO on Labor Day for our 31st annual Labor Day Parade and Family Celebration. Thousands of union members, representing close to 75 separate union locals and councils in our area, will march up Columbus Boulevard from the Sheet Metal Local 19 union hall to Penn's Landing, where we'll have live music, food, our annual drill team competition, and games and crafts for kids and families.
Contact your local union to find out about participating in the parade and attending the festival. Members of the general public are welcome to attend, as well -- you can buy ticket to attend at Penn's Landing on Monday the 3rd for $10.
