Our Team

Jana currently works as the Chief of Staff for the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO. In her role, she supports the rest of the Council's staff as well as the Executive Board and Delegate bodies. She takes seriously her responsibility to support the Philadelphia labor movement in growing in large and powerful ways, including through mass mobilization and direct action. 

Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, Jana was the Organizing Director at the CLC. Prior to joining the Council in 2022, Jana worked with SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, organizing alongside hospital and home health care workers to build power both inside and outside the workplace. Jana was born in Bogota, Colombia, grew up in Washington DC, and has proudly called Philadelphia home for more than a decade.
