The Joint Employer Standard

Joint employers are important. Temporary and other staffing agencies filled over 3 million jobs last year in the United States and it is estimated that 15 million temporary and contract workers interact with these agencies every year. These agencies do not only help find employment opportunities for workers; some help people learn skills that can assist them in eventually advancing their careers.

During this term, the Trump Administration has weakened the requirements to designate employers as ‘joint employers.’ It is now one of the weakest tests at the National Labor Relations Board that costs workers $1.3 every year.

Joe Biden has an economic plan that will account for every worker and he is ready to put it into action the moment he takes office. He has a step by step economic plan to get people back to work while keeping families and communities safe during these unprecedented times. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris know, as two of the strongest pro-labor candidates in recent history, that Unions protect workers and that is essential because it will be workers that build America back better.
