On Monday, September 3rd 2018, thousands of union families gathered on the Delaware River waterfront in Philadelphia to celebrate solidarity, community, and the power of working people.

The morning kicked off with a pre-parade rally at the Sheet Metal Local 19 union hall. We were honored to be joined by speakers who included Pennsylvania's Governor, Tom Wolf, and Attorney General, Josh Shapiro, as well as Philadelphia's own Mayor, Jim Kenney, and Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers.

Our parade up the Delaware waterfront featured floats, drill teams, a string band -- and even a retired military helicopter! The family festival at Penn's Landing was hot and humid, but the heat didn't dampen our spirits.

Here are a few pictures from the day -- you can check out the entire photo album on the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO's Facebook page.
